When is recommended to short WHL?

I made a newbie mistake with IMP
Bought at R95. Then sold last week at R116. Thought it was coming back down.
Hindsight is a bad word!
Got back in again at R126.00, but think the horse has bolted already and it may fall back to lower levels again,
Time will tell

What's the feeling on IMP? Heading below R120 again?
My eyes are bleeding from watching my GFI shares crash and burn. Now IMP too :-(
Time for a bottle of wine

If IMP can just let me in. I need it to go down further.

I want to buy the dip

I agree. I think the Fed will make a point of making their first taper a small amount, to get the market used to the idea.

The concern is overblown. US is picking up, Europe is starting to, China continues to grow at 7-8%, Africa is accelerating.

I've never been more optimistic as an investor, especially taking a 5-10 year view.

Smart money will bring all the money to EM markets soon. Just take a look at the retail stocks yesterday. Some big institutional buyer is investing big in retail. They need our stocks as a proxy to Africa.

Why do you think Walmart wants a piece of Africa, because Africa is the next growth area. With all the oil we are finding and resources we have, you just have to love Africa.

We should call our index Africa40, it can be a great marketing tool.

Looks like the bull market is here to stay, we might finish high again.

Weak retail sales, sluggish job growth, I'm thinking if the Fed STILL tapers, it will be $5B at most? So whats the point. It's still near-term weakness that's a worry. Can we stop talking about a  September taper now?

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

How to find good companies, just look at who is part of the management team. Always buy the shares when they dip.

Patrice Motsepe

African Rainbow Minerals

Sanlam

Christo Wiese

Brait

Shoprite

PSG Group

Cyril Ramaphosa

Assore

Bidvest

Mondi

MTN

SAB Miller

Standard Bank

Now in the case of Ramaphosa, he is a well connected politician. And all those companies are top performers in the JSE. Investing is easy if you just look at who owns the companies.

But my favorite group of owners are the Stellenbosh guys. If you invest in any company owned by Christo Wiese, Jannie Mouton, Johan Rupert, you will make money one way or another. These guys own South Africa. Lets just look at the companies they have influence over:

Shoprite

Firstrand

Capitec

RMB Holdings

Steinhoff

Brait

Invicta

KAP Holdings

JD Group

Zeder Investments

PSG Group

Curro Holdings

Remgro

MMI Holdings

Reinet Investments

What most people don't know is that Steinhoff  has one of the best teams.  To consider that it's the cheapest  Rand Hedge, its amazing.

Talk about Capitalists.
