Long TFG, Tru, Jdg and Shf   this morning. Lew ran away because fo their results and now up12%...

These companies were badly hit because of ABL...now all going to recover bigtime ( Hopefully)

Trade Ideas

  1. Long: ABIL, Stock is heavily oversold and the stock has found support at around R22. Results are due on May the 23rd. We are buyers and traders off R22.50.

  1. Long: Barloworld below R100, strong trading update was released today and stock has broken trendline resistance.

Why is BAW dropping so much?

Me thinks the volatility lately could be explained by shareholder rotation, MTN is your growth telecoms play whereas VOD is pretty much ex-growth in the sense that they consolidating their No.1 position in SA hence a more conservative and longer term holder of script is picking it up. They have a good to very good executive steering the way forward and their cap ex should start to come down here soon enough. They managed to up their divi in an environment that's not that great, plus the regional African operations do have significant scope for growth but they are small markets. They generate BEEEEG cash and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My 2c.

Final dividend No 8 for the year ended 31 March 2013 – correction of net dividend

Shareholders are referred to the preliminary results announcement for the year ended 31 March
2013 released earlier today which incorporated a dividend declaration. The net dividend payable
after dividend withholding tax for those shareholders not exempt from dividend withholding tax is
365.50000 cents per share and not 373.91304 cents per share.

Last day to trade shares cum dividend Friday 21 June 2013
Shares commence trading ex dividend Monday 24 June 2013
Record date Friday 28 June 2013
Payment date Monday 1 July 2013

VOD made a nice little comeback today after being beaten down 4.5% at one point. Augers well. Let's see whether tomorrow confirms.

Thanks. Will try to hold steadfastly until 20 June.

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

yeah, im holding as well.

stocks are being hammered today.

Just in line with the broader market being down....also it has had a nice recover from R104 lows..

Support at R108.50 level - it should hold with a decent dividend (well I hope so, as I am still holding).

order in to buy SGL this week @R6.40( R1 lower than last weeks packet)

SA's mining sector woes are well known and the perfect storm is on... from unions and wage demands to falling gold prices. would govt ever consider susbidising or incentivising the industry at some point? or would they disown the industry?

coz at some point them mining co's will close shop...
