Also won't short SAB here. Strong lateral support R550 - R560 plus trend support. Also keep the weaking Rand in mind.

betting against beer!
It's a trade that makes sense from a technical perspective but you will note from the attached chart that its broken the 200 at least 6 times in the last 4 years and in hindsight, each time has been a buying opportunity. Will this time be different? Time will tell... but I personally would not bet against SAB. Don't forget that SAB still has a significant presence in developed markets, including the US and Europe.
+ consumers have more money each day as the oil price drops...first place money moves to are the sin goods and that happens globally
I find trading like body surfing, catch the right one and you will make it all the way to the beach.

Placed an order to go short SAB. Broke below 200 day moving average. Plus EM very much not in favour atm. Lets see how this plays out

AGL monthly... Some crucial support at these levels (bear in mind that there might be some noise when looking at this long term scale and "noise" might very well be a 5% - 10% move)
yeah - last time it was at this level i sold out *facepalm*

Shorting sasol at these levels sub R400... after the horse has bolted can be dangerous.... With thin volumes and year end window dressing and Santa around hope you have stops in place. Strong Relief rally will come rather soon....
yep. its a very small position so my risk is under control. Think you right that we should see a bounce this week. Short term looks very oversold but the trend is very much down so would not be surprised if its lower in a month from now.

shorted Sasol. bit late to the game but looks like more oil downside on the cards.
