Any idea what's going on with Santova? Down ~10%

Oil price down. Petrol price down. Margins up. Profits up.
Hopefully this remains. (and exchange rates play along too)
Positive trading statement out today!
I really also hope they're sorting out their cashflow issues.
I really like this business. Good sub-sector to be in for the booming online sales industry.

Market's dropping nicely now. Should drop further by a couple of percentage points as it usually overshoots the 10% mark. But will it fall all the way to the 20% mark?

Besides the fact that 3 different FBR directors have sold a total of over 53m Rand worth of shares in the last month...!
... and now the cautionary.
Something we don't know?
I have raised this issue before on another post.
Yes, perhaps Mr Biggs hurt the overall bottom line a bit - waiting to see results in a month or 2 to find out.
But you have neglected to note that some Kingsway Fund have also acquired more than 5% of FBR a few weeks ago.
GPL has been hyped up all year - too much sentiment here, and not enough results...yet.
Like I said, if results look good next month - I might add a little.

Yeah, seems a bit overhyped.
Still happier with my money in FBR over this - despite the lack of performance this year
Either way, good prospects...I might take a nibble around the 550c mark for longer term.

surely this drop was expected as company sold their cash cows gaming operations and now went into a bee deal with Spur which is more a net asset value play..
I think its actually a very good buy at these levels!!

correct this is why i've only reduced holdings and not sold out completely..trimming a little excess fat is never a bad thing

took profits and reduced weighting 50% on GPL this morning...heads up everyone!
GPI hereby advises that a reasonable degree of certainty exists
that basic earnings per share and headline earnings per share
for the year ended 30 June 2014 will decrease from the
comparable basic earnings per share and headline earnings per
share for the previous corresponding period being 30 June 2013
by between 37% and 57% and by between 80% and 100%,
respectively.
Management considers adjusted headline earnings per share the
most meaningful measure of performance and advises with
reasonable certainty that adjusted headline earnings per share
will decrease by between 16% and 36% from the previous
corresponding period.

I'm a provisional tax payer and get taxed as a speculator, which I am.
I hear you - this sucks.
I've split my portfolio into 2 accounts.
1 for LTP and the other for speculation.
Soothes the tax pain a little.

Interesting.
How do you work your tax around that?
Income tax is not cool, and trust me SARS is not friendly on speculation - as far as my experience goes they are pretty strict on their little 3 year hold rule.

Cash - 100%
Waiting now for the correction which should be about 10% at least and should occur anytime from now until the end of November.
Interesting.
