I disagree Polla,
On the morningstar website u can see which funds/institutions/etf reflect the SDAX. These have sold their interest in Steinhoff in December. I would say plus minus 50 Million shares.
If tomorrow night they confirm that Steinhoff will be included again these funds etc need to buy shares and hold to these. So it will push the price a bit. Also people in Germany only invest into company's that are included in one of the for indexes. So this is an additional plus.
Interesting to note tho that Invesco has started to sell their holding only once Steinhoff fell out of the Sdax. So there might be some bigger investment strategy's behind it as well.
Let's see what happens in March if it will go up.

Shares was pumping , previously tonight up 15%, now up 5%.
According to Andi and the link snh should be included in small cap index dax.
If this is the case index funds will have to buy and hold snh, reduce volatility and increase demand. Will be good for the share price.

I don't think including SNH in SDAX is going to make any difference. Remember SNH was included in SDAX up to 23rd December 2019, before it was moved out of SDAX. The only reason it is returning is because of better volumes traded the last two months as well as increased market cap. IPO on PEPCO, positive litigation news, unqualified financials plus positive news on profits as well as cash:debt ratio's is all that will really get the needed attention from the market to restore confidence and some proper value in this share.... All these will take time... But the team on top is well qualified to get these right...

frankly, there are a decent number of benefits to being an index constituent.
Niu: Right. I think the most meaningful one is that index funds are essentially required to go out and buy your stock, which technically broadens your investor base. I think there are a couple of other theoretical benefits or counterforces in terms of volatility. For example, if you have an index fund that's buying a lot of your stock, they're just buying your stock and sitting on it. They're not buying and selling your stock actively, which, on one hand, should help reduce volatility; on the other hand, the supply of shares that's being really traded in the market decreases because you have these funds that are just sitting on the shares, which can potentially amplify movements when investors are reacting, positively or negatively, to events in news. So, there are some counterforces there, but I don't think there's a huge impact on a net basis that's really too meaningful for investors. But, just some mechanics to consider

Global markets are deep red. This caused Steinhoff to drop as well unfortunately.

2019 Annual figures in April.
Hi Andi, I disagree with that statement. The share price seen horizontal movement a few hours before sens came out. The moment Q1 was announced there was an almost immediate 20% drop in price, typical buy the rumour sell the fact.
This morning we've seen an immediate 10% drop on opening.
What I see as encouraging tho... Is that there's now upward movement and not the slow poison we're accustomed to.
7% growth not bad, MF indeed impressive... mondays trade will be telling
