Group Five was traded at 89 cents the day before the company applied to suspend it, and announced that the share holders (including the ones that bought the day before at 89 cents) will probably be getting nothing (that's ZERO) for their shares.

In other words, it doesn't matter what price they bought, their money has just disappeared, and there are currently some efforts to revive the business, and so they have to wait long now.

And that was triggered by them losing a court case (and of course the business not performing).

Reading through all this the next date to watch is next week’s court hearing re LSW claim.
Could be a reason why share is under pressure?

Ps Good call once again Milo!

Markets all in the red that's not helping but agree with Milo we could be seeing a turnaround.

There you go jumping to conclusions ..Is that the only exercise you do?

Dont use strong works as hate and stuff please..

For you info i made 2 trades on snh  and both were posted here...one call was break of R5.00 target R3.50 so made huge moola on cfds there

and second short at 2.50 and stooped at R3.00...since then no trades and even gave my reasoning why i wont short it to zero...

all in black and white...

frik whatever happens to who makes no difference to me for heavens sake...You still dont understand why im here posting against snh do you??  18 months and you still bark up the wrong tree???

IN simple clear language to a 5 year old here goes:

I only post to prevent the pumpers and  so called gurus who are in knee deep kak not to mislead the newbies...My heart burns when i see especially you posting...You and not MJ should be in Jail .....really!!!

Temper!!!!

Don't call me guru it was you that said I am a fraud because I am a day trader. In my opinion you a scaring people with false statements like this morning now the share getting suspended blah blah what is a newbie is reading that then sell immediately because he gets scared!!!

Anyway hope you can find a way to have a nice day!!

Polly I just want to tell/warn you  a true investor  should not let the hatred for old management, their actions get in the way of researching a share with a open mind to look for possible potential. The people have left now is repair time and we should give new management time to do their work.

From your posts one can see your deep hatred for the EX-CEO that parliament want him in orange coveralls I believe its impossible to have a open mind. Obviously you have had a bad experience with Steinhoff before and I respect that but maybe you should just sit back a bit and do some calculations and research like Andi does.

By the way have you read the CFO that new nothing is converted to become a saint is helping the government agencies.

Haha maybe came out of his coma the bolt of lightning hit him!!!

Haha you make my laugh!!!  The quick get rich scheme is this pumping you all talk about.

Its not a experiment its a reality.  In the world there are only a small percentage of fat rats because the most are thin rats always looking for the bad things to have a excuse not to go out because scared of the bad cat.

There is more danger the thin rat will be eaten by the bad cat then the fat rat the reason being at first the cat does not know there is a fat rat around but then when the multitude of thin rats come out the bad cat gets attracted and chomp goes the thin rats. The biggest danger the fat rat faces is to ignore the multitude of thin rats continue to try and scare him.

By the way did you listen to the utube clips???

whatever you say..

No , more trolls imo..nothing to do with current situation to invest in steinhoff...

@ Andi

Yeah agreed they should have suspended the share as in December 2017. But can't change the past.

And I see your risk assessment. Which I can understand. However I see this as a once in a life time opportunity.

Did we not see one of the other Gurus make this comment? sad that others got sucked in with this when i tried so much to give a warning....

No easy money investing n the stock market brother!! Mr M s job is not to give free money...U need to earn it..It will suck you , give you sleepless night and then spew you out!!  Dont become that number...Be an intelligent investor...If you made monies once before like that , what makes you think youll make the same killing with this share again? different share , different circumstances , different risk..... Never try to be a clever johnny please....

Buy hay its your money.....im just trying to advise from an experience point of view...you taking the risk...so if you happy well done and good luck!!!!

Yeah true there is no easy money on the market. Everyone would be rich by now if that would be the case. However most important thing for me when I invest in high risk shares is (which is never more than 10% of my total portfolio) to do proper research. And I have done my research and I have followed Steinhoff for quite a while now. And I'm glad to take the risk.

But thanks for the warning. But once i have made a decision I stick to it :) Even if it fails.

DiD you manage to ask the lecturer how many fat rats where left at end of experiment?? That big bad cat eat em alive as they left the cages... bet none... but all the thin ones survived...

same as investing...depends what you want...a quick get rich scheme then take the risk and get eaten somewhere along the line Mr M and then commit suicide or go live with your DAD....or a slow steady contented happy progressive life.

I am glad to read the various post it reminds me of when I went on a management course and the lecture was about risk.

He asked why in a group of rats there are fat rats and thin rats?

So he explained if you put a group of rats in a cage with a small opening its only the brave rats that leave the cage to investigate and they get all the good food that's why they are fat. The thin rat being timid and scare leaves the cage last and only eats the crums left by the other rats and stays hungry thats why is thin.

So the lecture said in life one needs to take risks and to be careful not to be too scared to venture.

You need to know the history of MJ to answer that..he was a narcissist.. My way the only way....No one questioned him. Audit risk committee and others had no say. They were negligent cos of MJs previous deals which all looked super human everything passed...

IOW Wiese has nothing to do with MF deal...juts passed it as any other brilliant deal done by super guru blue eyed wonder boy!!

Haha I have been following SNH for a long time and I personally never trusted him. Ok you have a valid point so then you can imagine how must I feel (just like Wiese feels about selling Pepkor) that the chairman that I trusted was just a rubber stamp employee did not demand that Audit risk committee had teeth and did not bother to earn his big money and check or the very least query why SNH was going to pay 115% for the company with so many stores close to each other. Surely you must agree that a Chairman is ultimately responsible for the well being of the company.

Andi i said it before in my summary...This share is a gamble  , a pure gamble..No business model ,no  cash flow statement , no  balance sheet  , no secret spies , no inside buddies going to help. Too may different scenarios and unknows  to deal with. Figures mean zilch. To call yourself an investor who has done all your homework to invest here , i say you a poor investor who needs his head read.  All you doing is gambling and not investing.

its a game of probabilities...

at a casino you get 50: 50 on black or white..

With this share you meed to make the probability call before you invest...

My call 40:60   Odds against me to invest here....better opportunities elsewhere...

Life is a gamble :) no risk no fun. no risk no reward.

Good point but think about this Wiese was Chairman that decided to buy MF for a premium of 115% which went bankrupt in 2 years so surely now as a shareholder of SNH I can claim the money back from him because he acted irresponsibly. What do you thing about this!

Yeah agreed they should have suspended the share as in December 2017. But can't change the past.

And I see your risk assessment. Which I can understand. However I see this as a once in a life time opportunity.

Let's say I invest 100k.

Worst case scenario occurs. Company goes bust, unit gets sold and they go into business rescue which means my 100k are gone. Thousand of people loose their jobs. And I go on with my life having 100k less. **** happens haha

Best scenario:

Company can implement CVA, company issues AFS (12 Billion write off not as high due to PwC report of 6.5 Billion), CW pulls back claim, other claims from shareholders get resolved, Operating units all turn to profits, All produce profits at the moment except for Mattress(However was successfully restructured within 2 months), loans at 10% per annum get repaid slowly, to raise finance they could list some of their operating units for example sell 30% via IPO to reduce debt.Target price then for me would be 1,35 Euro and 58 Euro cents.  That would give me a Million rand. Giving me a 10:1 ratio. Say we take your 75% bust and I take my 25% best view the overall risk ratio would be 0,75:3. Very very High level tho.

For me time will tell whats going to happen. I see this 100k as a learning opportunity for future Investments. I mean we can learn so much out of this story. No degree can give you this kind of scenario.

We should thus just wait and see what happens and all learn out of this.

I personally made some big bucks back in 2009 with Infineon. Bought in when everyone was saying this company will go bust at 50 euro cents and there is no hope. Today this share is trading at 22 Euro.

I'm really glad that we have some pro and some contra people here in the forum. Leads to constructive discussion where I think we can all learn from.

Andi i said it before in my summary...This share is a gamble  , a pure gamble..No business model ,no  cash flow statement , no  balance sheet  , no secret spies , no inside buddies going to help. There are more than seven groups of lawyers that are suing Steinhoff for the losses of the shareholders.

Tom if you go to the USA there are lots of lawyers making a living suing/court action its their way of making a living. Now its becoming more tough in the USA so they moving to Holland because Dutch law allows them. In Australia there is a law firm that all they do is that and are listed.

Tough one...Dont think case law allows a shareholder to sue a company to compensate for drop in share price..

Think better option from this astute buinessman and im sure he already got opinions from senior counsel is to go the " Here your worthless shares , Give me back my Jewels" cos you defrauded me with that transaction...again who benefited with that fraudulent transaction.... The Steinhoff group and not MJ!!!
