There's 200 stores closing down? No people will lose their jobs in MF and the reality is its needed.

MF need to do the right thing and start making money again

In the end people will do the right thing to save jobs etc...So yes Steinhoff might turn into a hurricane soon with lots of money to make if there is a storm brewing now  :D

Dear Howard, I trust u parted with your money and bought yourself a mattress yes? Kindly get your fellow Americans to do same it will help :)

A gamble it is, but no such thing as a wrong gamble? Do u think u made the right gamble with snh shares? U are risking your money based on what information? I'm going with my balls and many disagree, I don't blame them haha. Prior Dec 2017 the market was fed false information by snh and their auditors.

There's a storm brewing on this share .... :)

I am currently in USA. I have seen a few mattress firm shops. I must say it is beautiful and modern inside and outside and the beds etc.. looks excellent and modern with remote controls etc.. . I am very impressed with the look of the shops and beds and the well dressed staff inside. They are dressed in suits. I even asked one of the staff inside how is mattress firm doing and he said it is doing a lot better and he sounded very positive. It really does not look like a company that's going bankcrupt to me. Everything looks good and positive. They even advertise the company and beds on the local tv channels and weather channel here. I have a few shares in Steinhoff and what I have witness here have given me a lot of confidence in keeping the shares.

I think broker firms like Coronation must drop their law suits against Steinhoff and give the share price time to recover. It will be better for all. I think we must actually open law suits against Coronation etc, because they now stealing from us normal shareholders by not letting the share price recover. Why is there law suits against us normal shareholders but nothing against Coronation and them. They want Steinhoff to fail but we want Steinhoff to recover. The shareholders should actually sue Coronation and not Coronation sue Steinhoff for loosing there money. Buying shares in a company is a gamble in my opinion and they tooked the wrong gamble at the time.  :)

The last SENS (on Friday 5-Oct-2018)  said:

"The Group Restructuring otherwise continues in accordance with the terms of the lock-up agreement entered into by the Company on 11 July 2018",

Which (I think) is a positive sign (but anything can happen, so please make safe trading or investment decisions).

Just wondering what they can tell us that we don't already know...

i think you can just set alerts via sms, i do not see any other options, but call the call centre to get clarification. I also feel that this might not be the right platform if you planning on doing this for the long term.

"Mattress Firm’s balance sheet, published Friday, shows its liabilities exceeding its assets by $1 billion. The company had run out of options, having burned through about $500 million of cash in three years. A Mattress Firm holding company was on the hook for $3.2 billion of Steinhoff intra-group loans. "

So that maybe explains it, that Steinhoff now can demand that Mattress Firm pay them back the internal loan (this is just a guess from my side), and now that MF is half owned by the lenders, then the pay back or servicing of such internal loans will be done 49.9% by the lenders.

I think the MF deal was not a very bright deal for Steinhoff (but then again am no expert in these matters, and I don't have the whole picture, facts nor details), however this analyst thinks otherwise:
