Why will a fraudster and thief ever appear in front of an enquiry especially when he was first to jump ship?
and then if he appears, do u think he will speak the truth as to why he jumped?
No chance in hell, in my opinion, that he will appear. he knows jail time straight away from conclusion of enquiry..
Polly did you read the article that was shared on this whereby he agreed via his lawyer to appear on 05 Sept under specific conditions, if the summons is withdrawn, and this was agreed?
Are you still of opinion that he will not show under these revised and agreed upon conditions?
I agree with your sentiments and he will not provide much insight. It will be a waste of time.
I do however think he will be creating problems for himself if he does not show up on 05 Sept under the conditions that he himself negotiated in order to get out of summons.

Trading is one of the only fields where genuine con artists/scammers will urge you to “be careful of con artists/scammers.”

I think what the chairperson of the parliament Committee needs to ask Mr Jooste is why he is not availing himself to assist PWC with their inquiry. If he showed them exactly where the books were cooked, the investigation time could have been halved if not quartered thereby also saving steinhoff a lot of money. This , I think is important because of the prominence of this share crash in SA and the number of big local institutional and public investments in the share. His absence made the probe more difficult and time consuming.

According to the link send by Neptunenine1:::: 'Jooste agreed to identify any institutional flaws and challenges existing in the relevant financial regulatory framework which might have given rise to the collapse of Steinhoff' ....LOL does this mean they going to ask Markus..(our learned CA) to tell us about all the flaws in GAAP(General Accepted Accounting Practice) and how he managed to exploit them..what ?????was the writer of the article on a high when he wrote that line or is there somethings I am just not able to understand?
If this 'Catch me if you can" artist is gonna do what the writer suggests ..watch the share price drop...my prediction. of 1.50... but then get ready to buy more....I will eat my hat if the share price rally on what Mr Jooste says, if ever he turns up as someone alluded to..Now that the court order to appear has been withdrawn he might not even show up...just send a statement..time will tell
My opinion is the market has priced this in already

Accounting rules....
What if Marcus was arrogant to think that he had legitamately exploited holes in finial accounting... Or loop holes... Rather then fraud... What If he justifies intercompany loans as does the entire European union..
Proving fraud is not easy... Or clear cut...
I am not defending the aCcounting genius... Or condoning the erosion of share value...
Creditors have some confidence in defending the litigation... Why else would they risk their investment....
Time will tell.... A day for le grange... A week for Marcus...and 4 months for pwc...

Seriously now, if jooste managed to bs experienced businessmen, how is our government going to get anything out of him. I agree it’s showboating and a waste of time.
Greetings from Singapore gents

Markus will not attend, only ex-CFO La grange
Be interesting if Markus is able to answer in a way that may result in the share price rallying. Perhaps he may say that he is surprised about wiese....thats wieses law suit out the way.... As an example.
Not saying that he will justify.. Rather demystify... If anything... Dont hold your 4 thumbs.. He may not say much
