Very disappointed with the once off costs at lifecare. The h2 results were really refreshing to compensate for h1 disaster. The once off costs impacted especially the r140m additional for retention scheme potentially triggered the 15% slump. With shareholders getting 25c...we need to better understand these decisions and in fact how does incentives get linked to share price.

My money this month has been on Life Healthcare having hit a low of r15. 2022 should be the year of recovery and they sitting on a realestate portfolio similar to telkom...stock could be undervalued..my target exit is r24.

Hospitals are packed with catchup elective surgeries that have been delayed for 2 years. Expect a nice run on the listed hospital groups towards h1 and fy exceeding 2021. Stable outlook and Expect at least 20% share increase this year.......unless one of them significantly reduces debt and or lists their rent to unlock value......this may just add a 100%

Have friends that are surgeons in various hospitals across SA. They say they are 0umping in Jan. 2 years catchup elective surgery. 2022 will be the year of the pump.for.hospitals.netcare seems cheapest. Lifehealthcare and mediclinic worth a punt. Life healthcare have the r&d on their diagnostic marker for alzheimer...and major movement to r40 is realisable 2024 lol.

Hospital share prjces should be climbing as hospitals are full across south africa. Why are hospital shares flat or on a sustained downtrend. The answer to this was provided in the financials of the big listed groups. Specifically covid and medical are low margin business and results in the loss of higher margin surgical.businesses.
Highly capital intensive businesses and no dividends declared. 2021 and 2022 may be more of the same as 2021 certqi ly a reflection of 2020 with covid predominating and any cash available qill be used for maintenanve and upkeep of these overrun facilities....no dividends for 2021 may see the shares lose alot more ground in 2021...
And if we hear any talks on nhi...well bobs your uncle...have these as moderate risk shares for 2021...

Aspen ascendis adcock..three shares in general that will be bouyed by sales and demand for products....best risk would be aspen, adcock share seems depressed and may breakout 20% over the year.
My favourite as always ascendis with its footprint across eu...apart from divestments...farmilider and sunwave valuations have multiplied many times over now with covid surge and product demand such that either a remedica or farmilider sunwave divestment sorts debt....and leaves ascendis share holders with a nice basket of assets post divestment. This is still my share for the decade from 40 sitting at 75c and heading to r6 to r8....my money on a complete buyout of ascendis now in the cards as the sum of the parts exceeds the whole by multiples...

Hospital shares reaching new lows...could it be the nhi fear and lower value governement contracts. Is it the non dividend declaration, high debt?
Many pension funds have these shares and looks like a bad year.

Demand for Steroid Surges After Drug Showed Promise for Covid-19

https://www.bloomber...m_medium=social

“If you don’t have these medicines, you shouldn’t have the doors of your hospital open,” said Lucio.

With U.S. hospitals ordering dexamethasone at higher levels than normal, suppliers are distributing both an oral tablet and injectable form of the drug. Observers are confident the eight companies that make the drug can ramp up production enough to handle the demand.
