Do you guys think the durable goods data at 15h30 will have any significant short term effect?

I'm leaving my longs open till early Jan. I'll just be keeping an eye here and there. Important thing though, on risk management, is to make sure exposure fits your account balance, so you can sleep easy.
Hi guys. Hope you'll well.
What's your take on Alsi? Is it safe to leave position open till Friday? Or take Christmas profit?

Well FTSE is playing ball nicely today but due to my instruments all my other timecurves are closed for today. Only possible trading space for me today is FTSE 's close at 14h00 our time.
Oh the joys of binaries....
I am still a little apprehensive regarding movement today. One large fund just might move this market significantly enough in the short term (i.e. intraday) by taking some xmas profit. So I am watching the beast closely...

Mmmm... Pretty uninspiring session so far.
FTSE had a nice pop to the 6700 level. Hope it can stay above that....

This 40400 level (Investing.com) will be crucial IMO.

Don't think it will be a good trading day for me. Will rather stay out today. Still got a feeling someone will take home some money for xmas.... I am not talking a 500 point drop but think more towards a flat to -0,10% finish on FTSE, US and maybe us too. Then a nice big spike up on the 27th and 30th with a similar day to today on the 31st.
The ASX (Aussie) is rocking the boat...I only see some retracement next week before the final push in Jan!

Any dip im buying, but I doubt we will get anything worth writing home about.
I find trading like body surfing, catch the right one and you will make it all the way to the beach.

Some profit taking or correction today? No proper indication for me yet on the pending intraday moves.... Futures are flat and no significant data during trading hours. US and FTSE to close at their respective middays.

Argento , what is your view that US (using S&P500) can break up past its high and we battling to reach our prior high and likely not to turn higher than 42000 mid January'ish and then, at this stage seems that it may break down in your projected February 2014 by almost 7% per your previous graphs to projected 38400 ??
Morning O,
I would say two things:
First as you know because we are commodities based the cycles differ and that causes us to sometimes outperform the other indexes and other way around, but what it creates is the price always needs to return to the moving averages, same principal apply on the longer timeframes as the short.
In the bigger picture the further the price runs from the 200 daily moving average the bigger the correction (returning to it but can take months or days) The US had its consolidation period earlier this year whereas we broke out to new highs (August)...they touched their 200 daily already in October with us only busy now with our consolidation towards the daily 200 and should reach it by February, that would also be close to the bottom of the band referred to yesterday and signal a significant low!
Secondly as you know a bullmarket display 5 big primary waves..now since November this correction was much deeper then any in primary wave III so we can be pretty certain we are already in our primary wave IV, with the US still busy with their primary wave III and wave 3 from 5 should top second week of Jan.
You can bet on the US experiencing a much more severe correction around March/April (their primary IV) whereas we will broke out and ours be very mild (return move?!), keep this in mind and hope it makes sense!
