Yebo,

Selling is on strong volume and buying light, she might even break the downtrend in force just above that 39800 level.

Actually glad we are seeing some upside before month end, if she had fell straight through till friday I would have re-considered my position...could see some upside even into tomorrow as well but thereafter down!

Next week the flood gates (red) will open, except for Monday that is (normally against the trend)!

A

Thanks A, I'm sitting nervously and waiting for further upward movement. If we don't breach 39800 today, then I might be joining the bears.

Question A, If US opens strong and we follow to 39900 and close above it, would you still consider it a downtrend?

This movement is making me nervous. Already lost some handsome profit for the last 30 minutes.

Whilst other markets are OVERBOUGHT for now and need to correct to retest their highs in the Last week/days ALSI has been OVERSOLD...Bulls have to go somewhere to make money and where better to go!

I remain with the view that we’re going down when the overbought markets come down, to around 38000 levels.
We’re oversold because we’re over priced. We needed this extra correction.

Our VIX is high and moves volatile, typical of a downtrend!

A, is this (VIX) the same as the JSE Top40 SAVI Index?

Where do you get it?

Just an oversold bounce, we fell hard the past days, trend is still down and should resume 'the fall' next week!

Any idea why we are running so hard today?
JSE overall up 1%

Hi Plasma, Not meaning to be critical at all, but isn't it difficult to concentrate on your work or in a meeting if you are running a position on ALSI unless your full time job is being an ALSI trader?

Yes I know S/L this and S/L that, but frankly I only use them if I have to step away from the screen. If I have a job to do or a client to see I don't open a position if I can help it, seeing as they paying for and expect 100% of my attention which for me at the moment is not possible if I have a position running at the back-end. Was just wondering....

This is also part of the main reason why I can't afford (pun intended) to trade ALSI anymore. Work demands.

Came out of meetings now....after losing my long overnight, had no position. So needed these pips this morning. :(

Interesting viewpoint ito you own experience and how you handle it....but I normally do not feel distracted during such a process, should I have a SL in place. But one must be sensitive to these things and not undermine the day job..... :)

The first goal is to ensure survival – avoid the risks that can empty your account and put you out of the trading business.  :)

We are already 318 points up today.

Top40  bullish or bearish days can hit 600 points easy.

To overextend 900-1000 points is possible

But i will take the 600 points route, so 39800 possible

Thanks S. I agree with you. I think we will test the 39800 level atleast today if not even break it.
