guys..this is a "fundamental" play ;)

Haha, yeah, I might be "fundamentally" wrong. From a risk/reward point of view I am MORE than happy to take this trade. And if things go pear shaped in the markets in the next month and gold decides to rally north, well, then I will be smiling!

Imperial results encourages a short for the day. Any views?

Car imports contribution off 30%
They were pulled up by logistics contribution but that is off a low base, logistics is also under strain in a highly competitive arena, ergo grindrod recent updates.
Don't see this improving in the near term.
I went in on a short this morning so we will see!

Might be. Will have to wait and see. EPS more or less in line, HEPS a miss. Some other metrics more or less in line. The new acquisitions contributed to this HEPS miss, had they been acquired in the previous financial year the results would have looked a lot better. Their Africa Logistics business did pretty darn good although overall organic growth slowed during the second half of the financial year. Group operating margin declined but some divisional margins improved, like the African Logistics.

So sitting at a 12-ish PE it doesn't look all that bad to me...

Agreed, volatility makes the money, pick ur longs and shorts well, (remember you can't time the market) .

By it's very nature the portfolio of a day trader is always in an unrealized loss position as one would be holding positions in loss and would have closed the winners banking the profits.

Just keep tonnes of liquidity for the down days. And size your positions well.

Damn wish I took my on advice. But hey those that CANT, ......TEACH.

Hi all, any day traders of CFDs out there. It seems day trading is pretty tough because of the volatile nature of the market.

If you want to "day trade" volatility is the name of the game!

Looks like a bullish breakout of the symmetrical triangle on VOD, considering to add to long held from R125.34.
