I've been long on PIK from R49 and bailed out at R52 :( . Unfortunately Standard Bank doesn't allow shorts on cfds on pik, but do so with the futures.
Looking to see if it breaks through R60.50. If not, I may look into a short.

Thanks Gents - much appreciated. Will check out both. However, IG's IM required is quite high @ 15% vs your normal 8% at FNB.. Haven't check StandardBanks yet, but shot for the feedback. Any other suggestions out there for further comparisons?

Nope, margin varies from share to share, mostly a 5% margin suffices.

IG has my vote, I moved around quite a bit till I landed quite happily at IG (Investec, PSG, Sharenet ((also good))previously)

Standard bank platform is a waste of time and money.  :(

Ig markets makes me happy.  :D

Standard bank great platform my gripe is the limited number of counters sometimes as well as I think it's a tad bit expensive @ 35bps per trade. (70bps round trip)

Hi gents & ladies

I just registered so am new here: been reading and enjoying a couple of trends over the last few weeks. Looking at setting up a CFD account somewhere. Any suggestions?

Welcome Shrewed, just opened a cfd acc with standard bank online and find the platform to be great, used them for share trading too over many years and had no hassles, good trading, may the force be with you!

does anyone have a view on MPC? SENS released an update and share up almost 4% since lunchtime..

it's day high is 167, which i believe is also their 52 week high..

any views on this stock?

Clothing retailers seem to be having a decent run as of late.. WHL keeps going up and a lot of people have been calling for a short..

Can anyone please give a view on MPC as well as WHL...?

Bailed on my IPL short, share up 3.7% today! Gotta keep any losses small.

I don't trust this move up.  Negative divergence setting in nicely now.

NPN will open down 4%...not sure that will be the optimal level to short...

Agreed, unclear how the auction before open actually works, I know there is a sort of 'before and after' everyday.

Could anyone expound on that.

Naspers ripe for a fat short (see post Naspers), Tencent closed @ -4.92 New York, let's see how much further bleeding in Hong Kong tonight.
