Agree, but a long at this level makes more sense considering the upside potential.

I'm in at 61.30 a few minutes ago, looking for it to test 67/68 - I will look to short again at that level.

Guess I agree; got my order in @6030, for 700 points limit

Don't you think it will be a good short later with the coming move on the good news; sentiment (and prospects) of retailers still very negative and in a down trend?

Bloody good result I'd say.

I got in yesterday while at a lower level, i'm sure it'll push even further that it rose yesterday, the update looks good... i'll add some more and hope for some R3 more B)

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

Anybody keen on a WHL long after the update?

Think I'll have a nibble at it.

Quickest way is to check the company's website. Under investor relations there is usually a calender aimed at informing investors of upcoming company events, that's where they schedule such announcements... e.g if you go to MTN's calender you'll find 4 March as the estimated day for Dec results announcements.

Another way is to go to the previous SENS (archives), and check the declaration of dividends for past years, that will sort of give you the months during which the company declares dividends and stuff... it's usually on the same months over and over, except for Special dividends that just pop up anytime

Lastly, i also check sites like Sharenet, when you punch in the share code, and view the share information... somewhere they also give an estimation of the next updates the company will give.... e.g OML is estimated to be on 28 Feb, MTN on 05 March, WHL on 13 Feb, etc.

Hope this helps!

thanks. at least now i can plan better when buying shares.  :)

always helpful if you learn something new

lol. going to hold it, I bought a huge chunk last week as well. oml has been good to me so far.

How do you find out when the next results are due for a specific company?

From a technical point of view APN really needs to break through 273 to erase that ugly head and shoulders pattern. To be fair to Chicken Licken (i.e. HDB) the chart is rather bearish in the short term.
Be diligent in locking in your gains.

That said, I'm still adding to my long term holdings.

come on old mutual I want that R36 mark

Hold on until the upcoming results of both NED and OML... that should surely push it over R36, considering the good results out of SLM, and MMI's last update! Even OML's last update was superb.... i'm holding as well, added a huge chunk last week when most traders were high on the "sell"drug :D

Not pleased with the level of weakness shown by MTN... been long this stock since the 165.50 level, and this weeks it's been hell bent on gradually chowing my profits.

head and shoulder formation starting around 260..i'm bullish on monthly trend :D  however EM outflow/sentiment could impact very negatively on APN going forward..looks good currently though.
