The Rand has been under short term strengthening influences within the long term weakening trend. This weekly view sees the arrival of the turn by virtue of the RSI divergence and the wave count. Maybe the UK Gov will set the people and the economy back to work rather than chase a 'pandemic' that has an average age of death that is just a little higher than the average from all other causes!

This weekly chart view of this JSE resources sector player concurs with the hype about analysts expectations. As with most other indices constituents for this sector, the current Cycle commenced in 2016. Primary wave [1] has been difficult to count across the board. This one is seen to be extended and with a 5-3-5 structure. Primary wave [3] has rushed to unexpected strength and paused at the resistance level presented by the peak of Cycle I . The extension of Primary [3] is a given when the furtherance of the Cycle degree impulse structure is contemplated. The transition into the extension can sometimes confound but simple and in keeping with things can also happen.

A similar pattern to [2] – (3)x (most likely inverted) would be my initial expectation from here to [3]. On the other hand the weekly RSI still sits a little too high for my comfort.
