Agreed Orca

But they are consolidating number of branches in weaker Euro Zone areas

Still very strong in UK and Africa growing at a good rate

Barclays bank having a tough time in Europe. More than half closed shop here in Portugal and continuing to close more.

Bread, personally I would go with B-Africa

Better growth prospects in Africa and backed by Barclays

Hi Orca

My I ask why ADI as the next 20 bagger?

Ticks all the boxes that you would want in a share. Management, prospects, value, history, capitalization.

Tshabalala, the CEO has promised to make at least one acquisition PA in good proven companies. Following EOH's model that worked so well for it.

DSY is another no brainier. I will add it when I sell some CML in a week or two as it is very overweight.

ADI seems to be the next 20 bagger. They will give EOH competition. Sold PNC and OMN and bought ADI in November.

My portfolio:

CML-- Good times are over.

MTA-- Turkey surrounded by political unrest.

ADI-- My 20 bagger.

lol

Portfolio 2 is made up of share that I liked, but did not make it into the main portfolio - usually because of lack of a decent dividend. Total value is only around 5% of the main portfolio - so very small and just for fun.

Contains:

AVL, APN, CLS, DBXUS, DBXEU, DBXUK, EOH, FBR, FSR, JSE, MDI, MDC, NPN, OMN, OLG, KST, REB, SNV, SOL, SHF, TWR, TTO, WHL and ZED

Guess I enjoy reading SENS!!

I've left green open...

Looks like MrDividend's trying to bet on all the numbers.

Agreed, you have to take a stand which you can only do after research, which is the key to successful investing, otherwise you are a mere speculator who gets lucky some times, much like in roulette - you cannot bet on all the numbers.

Yeah, Mr Div's portfolio isn't for me - too many shares.  Just my personal preference, nothing against Mr Div.

I'd rather have a few shares and understand and follow them properly.  Even if they aren't the best performers.  But yeah, I'll probably add 2 or 3 more positions in the next couple of weeks in the form of CFDs as I exit my trading positions.

(New to using leverage, so leaving the listed portfolio as non-leveraged for now until I've increased my confidence in using it a bit)

I rather like Mr. Div's wide portfolio. I don't think any amount of research (looking into the past) is a guarantee of future performance or indicates any environmental changes to come. Kumba, Sasol, the retailers for the last three years, Pinnacle, etc.<br /><br />So why would you be so concentrated?<br />Spread your bets - I think that's safer.<br />

For sure, each has their own recipe and as long as its making money = winning.

When it comes to spreading ones bets - I prefer to diversify by sector/industry or even country.

Pick the best one or 2 in that sector and go for it.

I don't see the point of having like 10 different stocks in the property industry for example.

How do you get to the code block function please

The <> button :)

If you hover over it, it says "Code"

Added some Grindrod to my portfolio.  If it comes down more I might add more.

Adapt It Holdings Ltd. 15.42% +65.55%
Capitec Bank Holdings Ltd. 18.82% +96.29%
Grindrod Ltd. 7.42% +0.89%
Mine Restoration Investments Ltd. 11.16% +13.46%
Wescoal Holdings Ltd. 29.09% +22.09%
Other stuff x

Notes

- I still need to analyze MRI and decide if I want to keep it long term.
- I'm overweight Wescoal (looking at the INITIAL position sizes), will sort it out later.
- I have some CFD trading positions.  I intent closing them (been dabbling with CFDs and trading, but realized it isn't for me).  Might use CFDs (leverage) for some long term positions going forward instead though.

FYI the code block seems to work great for formatting :)

Sugafoot,

You merely open an account at the one and inform the other to transfer the shares to new account, there is a nominal charge for this only, I dumped PSG on this basis when I moved over to Sharenet.

Thus no tax implications.

Oh bummer. :-( I think my last fnb trade was close to R200 in costs... How do I change over to Sharenet? Thinking of tax implications
