At a low of 17cents!

Seems like someone knows that this share is going to tank

Salkow's wife  bought  2 million in Feb at 39 cents

You're correct there. It's interesting that more shares were not bought when it is at half the price level it was when she had bought it. If the share is a deal, one would think that she would buy in more. And the share price was hovering around 20c before the closed period so directors could have bought if they had seen value. Maybe they're waiting for the share price to move lower?

Sorry these are my thoughts before considering to buy in.

Taking this into account, it does seem like it can be a positive strategic move. Would love to see management buy shares to show some confidence.

It would be, but I assume they are in a closed period with interims due next month.

2nd SENS Statement from Ellies for the day and another change to management where the company's secretary has resigned and been replaced.

Will be nice to see some stability soon and get a full time CFO and Chairman on the board. The positions are currently held in the interim while find someone to fill the position permanently.

Could he be pushed out under the term "founders syndrome" on 2nd thoughts..he may be reluctant to change....?

Either way their name & retail presence is the stuff of "mom & pop" safety & reliability.

Happy to hold yet don't want any more...

Upper middle management moving into executive not a bad thing here me thinks....not sure if Ellie Salkow will leave in totality...thought he was driving the retail turnaround strategy...? & how much skin in the game does he still hold or are they shareholder loans...?

All part & parcel of the restructure is my guess as to management shuffles...

Remember they splitting the business as per lenders conditions...

Thanks Soutie. I appreciate the insight and what to look out for. Makes sense if it does relate to lenders conditions. However I would imagine that the market would be concerned seeing the pioneer of the company leave when the share price is at it's lowest.

Looks like Ellies has retired from Ellies. Lots of movement in management this year and interim replacements. Warning signs?

ELI needs to show Mr Market that it has rid itself of all the power generation loss making businesses pay down the debt associated with said businesses.

Once that is achieved the turn-around plan on the retail\commercial arm needs to generate positive cash flow so that the lenders ( i think Investec largest...???) will relax some of their conditions that are presently choking them.

Always been a bit dodgy on their financials booking profits for inventory that is stored in a warehouse comes to mind....super bloated overdraft facility.

Mentioned elsewhere they making strong inroads towards energy efficient corporate lighting systems...so the less looking over their shoulders the more innovative they can be with their in-house experience & adapt their manufacturing facilities to suit.

Set top box well peops further down this thread know more than I.

Should re-rate to the upside but when...

Yeah I do own some.

My 2c

Cheers.

Do you predict positive results for the interim?

Is the management current make up causing the market to hold Ellies at a discount? New and tempory management causing uncertainty?

Interesting fact:

Institutional Support for ELI   Sep 2018 quarter   134.43% Jun 2018 quarter   1.47%

Ellies is my AEG share. At these levels and given the company performance of late I'm willing to take the risk.

Jasco been there and paid my school fees.

Bought in about 2006 at +R4.00 per share.

5 years ago was trading around +-R1.50

Added to that losing trade big ..averaged at R2.50 with intention of jumping out  on any bounce above R2.00

Did that to +-R2.20 and sold the lot at a small loss..

Now trading at +-R.60 c

Once again looks cheap..

But in one of those 70% bracket i mentioned.

dangerous comparison

They suspended their own shares because if releasing an incorrect statement, don't see any Steinhoff type behavior here.
