I am just going by the SoP the court gave 8 days to find out if there are any appeals. I don't know the courts in SA but if there is a court case pending then would that not delay?

For me having difficulty understanding why would SNH take this all the way up to the CC in urgent manner if ti did not matter?

Any lawyer in the forum could maybe share their views???

as I cam recall the judge did not even give reasons for her decision that she made .....so the door wide open...my stupid opinion

I don't think that it will be delayed. ALL CREDITORS VOTED IN FAVOR. HOW IS TT GOING TO DERAIL THAT. WHAT ARGUMENT CAN THEY USE TO DELAY?

Im not sure, but Doubt a case like this could be thrown out easily...they would have to overide the previous case..might happen but I dont think it would be quick, my guess is the 30th sens will be out first...but who knows

Can you imagine the spike if a SENS came out revealing that the supreme court had thrown out the case? One can dream ^.^

Steinhoff has approached South Africa's highest court on an urgent basis in a bid to stop a lower court from continuing to hear an application to have it liquidated.  

 

The retailer on Monday lodged an application for leave to appeal an earlier ruling of the Western Cape High Court that found it has jurisdiction to hear the winding-up case. Steinhoff is arguing the ruling was wrong in law and deals with new legal matters not yet tested before a court.

 

While the apex court is not the usual first port of call to dispute a high court ruling, Steinhoff's move is an indication of how seriously the retailer is taking the matter. It already filed a similar bid with the Supreme Court of Appeal......
