I think it just talks to the speculative nature of this share right now.

People and robots are jumping onto every piece of info they can find.

Hi IN, I dont believe the GS process will be derailed by the latest Hamilton saga.

Their main beef is that they, ('market claimants') are not being treated the same as the 'Contactual' Claimants.  Also, let us not forget the outcome of the South African class action (De Bruyn as the lead plaintiff), wherein the court recently ruled that the causes of action pleaded against Steinhoff were not viable and for that reason, the 'market claimants' are lucky Steinhoff is including them in any settlement.

Further, in my opinion the Company has been so diligent in the processes they have followed, that they would not have progressed to the 'next step' if they were not sure of success.. Let us not forget it was our view that they have sought and canvassed the support of the requisite required claimants in order for the GS to succeed even before announcing the GS Oct 2020.

Then, from the company Documents, below some questions answered. I believe the company will have the requisite 75% by value to approve the S155 Scheme.

What level of claimant support is needed for the settlement to become effective?

  • The level of claimant support required for the approval of the Dutch SoP Scheme Proposal is a regular majority of attending ordinary insolvency creditors representing at least 50% of the total value of claims against SIHNV. The level of claimant support required for the approval of the S155 Scheme Proposal is a majority in number, representing at least 75% by value, of creditors present and voting in each class of creditors of SIHPL.

What indications of support for the proposed global settlement have you had?

  • Steinhoff believes the terms of the proposed settlement are fair and realistic in the circumstances and urges claimants to take this opportunity to agree a settlement.
  • Vereniging van Effectenbezitters (“VEB”) has issued a support statement and withdrawn its collective (class) action in the Netherlands and recommended the proposal.
  • Steinhoff has also received letters of support for the proposed settlement from various contractual claimants.

The media have not done us any good though, they look for the slightest bit of negativity to sensationalize an issue and although they are technically correct in their summation of an issue, they fail to paint the likely full picture, and this has us all doubting.

Again let us not forget the solid underlying businesses of the Group, its realistic true asset value once the dust has settled and what our shares will then be worth. I have faith that no other share is going to give me the return over the next 2 years that Steinhoff will.

Just my views Gents and I pray I'm not wrong!

maybe stalling because of this

  • AllShare -2.1%, Battered along with global markets from the get go to end at the days lows
  • Overnight selloff in US tech set the tone, dragging Tencent and global techs names south; NPN (-3.9%) & PRX (-5.3%), but rest of the market shortly followed suit
  • Banks -1.5%, Ind -2.6%; miners hardest hit after recent outperformance, Plats -3.3%, following the metal weaker

Todays Market Overview from Standard Bank

If the share price is stalling for the last few days...this means to me that the results that will be released on Friday will be a non event..
