I wonder how much life the possible legal settlement will inject into this thing. Same goes for the refinancing of debt.
I assume only if/once this is done - will we know if it’s worth anything.
I do agree LDP does need to step up now and take accountability for the decisions he has made since taking over

Fact - The share price is in the Toilet, and the AFS looks horrible. We all hang on to this fairy tail recovery, based on Legal claims being resolved and debt re-structured.
Fact - LDP spent millions(share holders money) on a PWC report, that he is not sharing. Why not? What facts is in that report? Is he protecting his Master/s, or is the info too delicate and might sink SNH and subsequently his MASSIVE salary with it. OK, he reported MJ to the Hawks, boo-hoo(he knows they useless), he is required to do that to show he has done everything in his power to bring wrong doing to the fore. Why is CW/MJ not exposed from the report he has? ALL this is to protect the Master/s and buy more time to earn big bucks, and allow the Master/s to "retire" and move money to Panama/etc..
Fact - He is not getting paid with shares, nor is he buying any himself. (It could be that they are not allowed to buy yet, I am not sure - correct me) He does not even believe in his own company, he is at best a Janitor for the Master/s trying to save time.
Fact - Spent millions(share holder money) on consultants, is he and his board/s not smart enough?
A worthy leader/entrepreneur/CEO of a growing company would have cleaned ship HIMSELF after getting that report. (He kept Heather for years, and even employed a internal to Steinhoff grown CFO)...I have my doubts.

There actually is a reason for the share price going down, just that the news was pushed to just after the market closure .... as usual, we are the last to know.
What news?

I steinhoff in the dax 100?
The market cap of the smallest company is 34 billion Euro. Which is 188 times the size of Steinhoff. So if you want to use your DAX logic than Louis should be earning Euro 38 000.

For me, I don’t really care who earns what amount. I trade the markets with a goal to make money.
I’ve entered into a trade and I’m willing to let the market prove me right or wrong.
Have a good one guys

Both him and Theodore d K is ex-Steinhoff, they part of that Mafia that Julius is hunting.
They getting paid a Dax 30 company salary, but being dropped out of the Dax 60.

Agreed it is illogical and he doesn't have any real track record and is lacking when he speaks it just doesn't make sense he is definitely not the man for this job. Maybe they have been strategically placed to serve their masters.

Thanks bubble finally a level rational head amongst the herd[/quot]
For me it is not about his salary, he shouldn't even be in that position, his character is not fit for it. That's just my personal opinion.... But hey... Mr market is talking, can't ignore that

Zanme, for what it is worth, I agree with you, (Facts or no Facts). They are overpaid.
That Stellenbosch setup always smells, it has that stigma for a good reason.

Hi KP7, no not exactly the same. Steinhoff will get the money they receive for the portion of Pepco they IPO (Initial public offering). They will use these funds to repay debt.

BradH, they are planning to IPO Pepco. My best guess they will keep between 50 and 70% of the shares. Pepco will then be independent from Steinhoff. They were valuing the Pepco Group at around 4 Billion €. Given that their future growth is still achievable the value will just rise over time. So the longer the IPO can get deferred the better for Steinhoff.
Really strange what is happening yesterday and today. A lot of shares where dumped due to Steinhoff exiting the SDAX. However I do not understand why the volume in SA is relatively high.
I really just hope more then 75% of the claimants accept the proposal and also that they get creditors approval. If not we will have huge problems and the share price will continue to fall.
Andi, is this similar to unbundling? We saw what happened to RMH and PSG when they unbundled FNB and Capitec respectively.

I really wonder if Wiese will accept the offer and also what his actual portion will be after he pays all his margin loans.
I mean if he gets 150 Mil cash and 150 Mil in Pepkor shares he would be well away. And if he invests that 150 Million into Steinhoff he might be able to buy back a substantial portion of his previous holdings.
I mean say he invests 150 Mil after the global settlement at around 20 cents a share on average. He can buy back 18%.
There are however a lot of ifs here haha. Just a thought on the sideline.

With Pepco group planning to split from Steinhoff down the line, would this not be disastrous for SNH as Pepco is one of their largest income generators, if I'm not mistaken? And I take it SNH will be using the sale amount to pay off a portion of their debt?
