Interesting to read about Africa Bank several years after their demise. I expect short term memory, strategic legal settlements aND restructuring too will protect he 100000 of jobs for snh and allow this entity to in three years be safe for investments.

:D A lot of politics involved. Cyril Ramaphosa also did not see anything when he was deputy president. The same for all the investors who want their money back  bunch of liars

Yes its amazing how greed and ambition makes one deaf and dumb with serious issues of memory loss.
I cannot wait for the day the Hawks put MJ in the stand for a possibility of long rest in Pollsmoor where he will need lots of Vaseline.
He will sing like a canary and all of a sudden all the rats will get caught!!!!!

this company needs a serious game changer for the market to turn this downward trend around, will afs 2018 do it? afs 2019? afs 2020?, afs 2025?, cva/lua agreement? cw dropping his lawsuit? veb out of court settlement?.

even cw is calling this a "major ponzi scheme"

https://www.timesliv...-his-biography/

"Once I knew exactly what [former Steinhoff CEO Markus] Jooste was doing, I saw the fraud in the finest details," said Wiese.

"When I saw what he had done was build a major ponzi scheme I wrote the cheque for R59bn and put it in."

SENS 21 Feb 2019:

Highlight:

The Company confirms receipt of a petition by a group of shareholders for inquiry
proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal (the
"Enterprise Chamber"). The petition includes a request to appoint an Investigator as well as
an additional member of the Supervisory Board of the Company whose role will include
oversight that information is provided to shareholders adequately and in the context of any
inquiry to be ordered by the Enterprise Chamber.

Is this the Pic acting in the best interest of the shareholders or themselves trying to deflect attention from their multiple shade investments and enrichment of sa elite businessman.

These so call responsible people will go to court and create noise and push this company into the grave and they would get nothing for their stupidity. Legal settlement will occur but has to be done strategically not by show of force.....

Pic you have better chance of collecting on all your loans fro. The bbbee sharks you fronted for

IN yes I agree but let the big guys fight because CW was shareholder director and had lots of business dealing with SNH I think he made lots of
money from SNH so let the PIC also demand some of the cream because I think they might just get it right to get the full truth out!!!

I still don't believe in lightning bolts or that a couple of guys could pull such massive fraud/accounting irregularities.
The day MJ is in the stand in court facing a long jail term he will sing like a cannery!!!

This explains well the Enterprise Chamber: https://www.amsadvoc...r-in-amsterdam/

Think PIC want another enquiry and place a spy in the board.

Looks like PIC taking court action this Thursday in Amasterdam:

https://www.quotenet...rsus-steinhoff/

Highlight:

The South African state fund is not very happy with that, it can be concluded from the legal steps it is taking now. This Thursday, the victim is asking the Amsterdam Enterprise Chamber to order an investigation into the policy and course of affairs at Steinhoff, as well as taking immediate measures.

Interesting article from Germany: http://www.deraktion...uhe--482650.htm

Steinhoff: Finally peace and quiet?
At Steinhoff the ghosts divide. Some speculators still do not see the troubled furniture retailer from South Africa and rely on the rescue. Most stockbrokers, however, keep their fingers off the stock. Steinhoff himself is now spreading optimism. But the stock reacts unimpressed.

Steinhoff wants to extend the deadline for an agreement with its creditors until 30 June. This was announced by the company on Friday. The original deadline is May 31st. Creditors are required to give their consent by May 24 to facilitate this step.

Steinhoff continues: "The goal remains to complete the restructuring as soon as possible."

How it will proceed in the negotiations with the lenders, but this is not yet clear. Just a few days ago, Steinhoff indicated in the 2017 financial report that the situation was still difficult: "There are considerable doubts about the ability of the Group and the Group to continue as a company for the foreseeable future."

And further: "The Board of Directors and operational management need enough time to stabilize the Group and restore value at the operational level."

The next important date is June 18, when Steinhoff will most likely present the annual report for 2018. There may be more information about Steinhoff's assets.

Hey DTD,

This is fantastic. I REALLY value your feedback and contribution.

This is how things should be discussed - civilly and in an informed evidence manner. We respect the differences and the reasons for the differences. We embrace the differences that strengthen and rebut our individual calculations, evidence and conclusions.

I am genuinely enjoying this "new" platform - thanks to all the contributing members.

See, we can disagree and still respect each other's opinions.

There is no single correct answer to forward looking events that is not a pure hard science.

Thanks again,
Captainfrom82

I would be interested in growth assumptions for next few years as well as Capex availability and liquidity. Hopefully the legal issues and interest payments donot limit this engine from expansion and crossing geographies.
