fact or fiction Milo...or you trying to act like DTD???

For me buying any shares is voetstoots. I have never bought shares where there is a clause that say don't worry you will get your money back if something goes wrong.

You should read carefully: The most important phrase is: But everybody knows the company does not have that kind of money, Wiese added."

As he has mentioned several times before, if he sees that the company is restructured properly (Which is happening right now) he will probably drop his claim.

Wise calls this a worthless share...and then in blue everybody knows this company does not have have this kind of money...

Mmmm Wiese the astute business man knows what he is doing...Sue now  and hardly get anything as company is technically insolvent or ride hopefully ride the share price ( sit round the table and discuss scenario) and get more later on..Either way he will want at least 80% of his claim.. and only scenario i see is....heres your shares...give me my jewel!!!!!

As i aint invested here im not gona go deep into this...any idea how many steinhoff shares Wiese got for pepkor ......and what is his holding now? IE how many shares he is short off to give back on exchange ( banks sold off his steinhoff shares as margins eroded at a much higher price). So technically he can still buy to the full amount at a much lower cost!!!

I think another important point from the report:

"If the Group, having considered the findings in the PwC Report, including any
consequential impacts, believes that the restatements to the total equity position of
the Group as reflected in the unaudited half year results published on 29 June 2018
are materially out of line, the Group will inform the market as soon as it becomes
aware of such material difference."

You should read carefully: The most important phrase is: “But everybody knows the company does not have that kind of money, so our approach has been that the only way forward is for all the stakeholders to sit around the table and reconstruct the company,” Wiese added."

You see andi222 that is what I have a problem with people not reporting properly just looking for negative sensation!! Very sad!

u frikken wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for that....lucky alsi closed at 5.30pm...

Thanks Polly appreciate your time.

Ok so how would him buying back share help him reversing the transaction?

Now he would need to get his previous loss plus the additional R560 mil he just spent to break even?

What about this senario:

Wieser shares were sold off buy the banks because the share price dropped and he then was let with only 267 mil shares which is 6.2%.

With that percentage he will have limited say over the future restructure like for example getting PEPKOR Holding to buy out PEPCO ( This was already in the news). It you remember way back PIC said the best is for SNH to reverse list back to SA so maybe the SA large shareholder are working on something like that.

By buying another 243mil shares Wieser his holding in SNH is about 12% and if one add the PIC holding of about 7% this makes meaning full position of 19% together so if one adds the additional ones it will make interesting the decision at the time of shareholder voting on the restructuring.

To to finalise my take is at the end there will be only PEPKOR and PEPCO Europe and Wiese want to make sure he will be part of that alter all if you have 800 mil shares at average cost of R50 or you have 800 mil share at average cost of R2 ( just a thumb suck figure) its only the book value of your investment that changes but you will still be own 18% of the company. The book value will improve over time and he will be back as he was before how ever if he did not buy back and only got 20% of his claim would be the end and a large loss.

Why dont you just put headlines as to the reason in your view he is buying back remember I am 5 year old and don't know how to read or join dots. I would really appreciate that thanking you in advance!!!

Bottom line  CW will want transaction to be reversed...Maybe thats why he is buying..

Give back your shares and give me back my crown jewel....simple!!  again if i was in his shoes this will be my target!!
