You might be right but I think he has decided to do the right thing for himself

Armand Kersten, head of European relations at VEB, the Dutch Investor Association, said that Dutch law would prevent Wiese's claim from being upheld, as he was a director of Steinhoff at the time the transactions were entered into. “There is clear case law on this,” Kersten told Business Day.

Also not to mention it will take a long time to get any moneys and would be expensive to litigate the case.

TITAN PREMIER INVESTMENTS (PTY) LTD Share purchases:

Shares Held 2018/08/31 - 0
Shares Held 2018/09/28 - 137,558,263 for the month the HI: R2.90 Lo: R2.28
Shares Held 2018/12/28 - 243,984,427 for the month the HI: R1.85 Lo: R1.36 ( Bought 106,426,164)

My question why invest a further R560 mil if he could just sit back talk the share price up and collect?

Milo alternative view :

Why will Wiese make such a statement at such a crucial time?

What you posted is fact but one need to read between the lines....

and this is my view..  Rather than let the share drop before he claims and then maybe get nothing or only half , he sends that out t support share price exactly how you reading it...so punters go back in thinking hell man maybe he will withdraw his claim...

What happens..share price goes up...all in Wieses favour..sit around a table to negotiate,Wiese now getting the stronger hand in this pack of cards....negotiates...fails...and he then goes for the kill lock stock and barrel....

My opinion..although i will get attacked as not posting facts blah blah....

You might be right but I think he has decided to do the right thing for himself

Love it P! Exactly how I read that too....

I also feel that management needs to be calling the likes of Seifert, CW etc to sit and talk... And not run to court and fight losing battles....

Can't agree more. The Mud-Slinging is a) immature and b ) non-conducive to intelligent conversation.
I can't but help feel that as a result of just a handful of posters (you probably know who you are) newbie members like me (and probably many others) are hesitant to post.

John have your say... Take in the feedback and make your decision.... It will work for YOU... Also read as much as possible/ ppl like IN and Polly have given such advices before..... Its been working for me and yea I'm newbie

I would not invite you to my world don't think we have anything in common. I joined the Sharechat was not to hide but to exchange information and get information and intelligent view points but certainly not to listen to people with a deep hate for a share that just talk garbage. A example is you call Du Preez a liar then put intelligent real facts down so I can believe you. I am also aware that there are out there many suppliers that were milking the SNH and now that control came into action and the milk dried up the people are now very bitter.
Anyway no need to beat on a dead horse!!

Will only the big investment houses who sold their Steinhoff shares and helped the share price to drop benefit from the class action lawsuit?

What about the shareholders who kept their Steinhoff shares will they also be compensated?

And what about shareholders who bought shares today. Do they have any rights against the lawyers and investment houses and even Wiese who dumped their shares and is now claiming against the company and preventing the share price to recover?  Why is this so bias? I get the feeling that normal shareholders are being ignored and have no say and only the big boys with money will be looked after.

Will only shareholders who sold their Steinhoff shares benefitted from the lawsuit?

Why don't you post everything: (You see what I talk about not giving the correct information!!!! )

“I would expect Steinhoff to give me back my money, and I will give them back their worthless shares,” Wiese told Reuters.

“But everybody knows the company does not have that kind of money, so our approach has been that the only way forward is for all the stakeholders to sit around the table and reconstruct the company,” Wiese added.

Pls email each other privately to share your thoughts and critism. Just a suggestion. Respectful banter and differing view points are great to drive thinking.
But overt abuse perhaps for a different forum.
This share has its issues. We are invested and we would like a recovery. We would be overwhelmed by a modest recovery and make an absolute killing at r5...

Milo from what is running around the media where Wiese said :

“Everybody knows, the company does not have that kind of money, so our approach has been that the only way forward is for all the stakeholders to sit around the table and reconstruct the company,” Wiese told Reuters

For me not sure this will even go to court because with all the companies Wiese has no one can confirm how many shares he owns directly or indirectly and eventually the shareholders will sit around the table and support the restructuring and let the company grow after all both PEPKOR SA (Growing at 6%) and PEPCO Europe (growing at 27%) are growing so they need to sell all the units that are not performing and then SNH can focus on growth and continue to give dividends.

Yes I agree there must be a middle way that is good for all

Before u ignore me DTD, do u have Twitter or Facebook? I'd like for u to add me to ur social acc as I'd like to see what u write there and perhaps we could exchange views/opinions on that platform.

Or do u just hide here on Sharechat changing alias each time for whatever reason
