i have benver had a trade like this....exactly why i said i wont short snh as its too close to suspension.. My interpretation is what i posted but best check with your broker..

So if you short @ R1.80 and suspended at R1.50....you good for 30c....but can u caSH THAT 30c?? you will get intere4st on your short though...now if company is liquidated and worth zero , who is going to pay you that R1.50???

Exactly what my broker said. Even Shorting seemsvery risky

u get last traded price just before suspension....not zero

 

however when suspended , you wait till its all over...that is cant cash in untill finalized...iso if u short and share suspended and u still in , you may get nothing too...

Shouldnt DAW should put out a sens if the 120 day off the market deal is happening at 1c?

What is seen as a good dividend ratio, relative to share price, if you buy shares for dividends?

 

I've seen some shares being discussed as good dividend paying shares, but if you look at dividend relative to share price it just feels terrible to me.

Take Richmont for example that was proposed to me by FNB this morning as a Trade Idea, also stating that the "dividend yield is attractive".

The share price is R90.80 this morning, and I just quickly saw that the 2018 dividend was R1.90.

That's just over 2% and doesn't seem great to me.

I've seen similar percentages or results with the large caps, which are obviously low risk in long term.

 

If you therefor do not take long term growth or risk into account, what % are traders aiming for wrt dividend yield?
