But the Rand will certainly drop alot more when the story is confirmed. I can see it going back to at least 15 to the Dollar. That should push the market up another few thousand points. Thinking of just closing my position and staying out for a while.
And I'm out. No position for now. Methinks it's safer on the sidelines.

There goes the Rand. Bloomberg is reporting that it's going to happen.
The ANC has also denied the report. This is getting very interesting. Rand setting up for a full 100c + move if this is true or false.

There hasn't been official confirmation but multiple sources from last night's meeting with the SACP. It will happen. He's under pressure to get that nuclear deal done before December. This is his final play. The ANC is powerless to stop him since most of the NEC is on his side. They actually support him.
As far as the markets go well at least my shorts will pay off eventually when the country comes crashing down. In the meantime it's time to buy more dollars and gold. This scumbag will destroy this country if he has to. He really doesn't give a damn.

Weird thing is I don't see a single report actually confirming this in any way. Deputy perhaps. I think Zuma needs to straddle the line between those who line his pockets and the ANC itself and getting completely rid of Gordon would alienate his entire party.
Then again the ANC have done stranger things before but they lost huge political ground last time they played around with the Finance minister. Not to say Zuma is some master politician or put another way cares about politics but this might be too crazy even for him.
Hope they don't do it. For South Africa and for my trade.

Scumbag Molefe to be appointed as Finance Minister today. The man truly doesn't care about anything except lining his own pockets.

Rand actually holding up pretty well surprisingly. It was extremely overbought prior the news. I still believe it will have a decent amount of strength via the carry trade. If Friday showed anything it's that the US rate hike path is going to be very stuttered and very low.

Now that Trump's agenda has been dealt a heavy blow how will markets react? Will it keep on ignoring risk? Tax reform won't happen this year and 2018 is mid-term elections so don't expect it to happen next year either. The debt ceiling fight is coming up and Trump's Sunday tweets has just turned the Freedom Caucus into enemies. He blamed Democrats for the Friday's healthcare failure. He's isolated himself. What now of the Trump rally? A rally based on hope that a deranged narcissist would fix the world economy.
