A great challenge indeed. Somebody is going to jawbone this market higher at some point but it's all noise in the end.

Always tempting to follow the noise. Stay firm.

Daily and weekly bearish crossovers finally in place.. now the challenge to hold shorts for the big bucks... against temptation to take small profits

So will the vote take place tonight?

Apparently they'll vote late afternoon Washington time which is about 9 - 10PM SA time.

Suppose we'll be in limbo until Monday. We have to wait for that vote tonight.

Trump really is an amateur politician. He's making this Healthcare thing into a make or break situation which is precisely what politicians are meant to avoid. If they push the bill he simply fractures the Republican party further because he's pushed the conservatives and the moderates into a corner. These are the same groups who he needs for his tax reforms.

If they don't get it done today then he's really hurt his credibility. If he just kept quiet and let the political process play out he gets the Healthcare reform and the tax in early 2018. Forcing the political process hurts him either way.

His not a politician

He's a bully and he thinks he can bully the Congress to do what he says or else. Completely out of his depth and he'll be exposed very badly going forward. I don't see him even completing his term.

This bill was rushed for one reason - to rub Obama's nose in it. They wanted to repeal it on the day of it's anniversary because of their hatred of Obama. They had 7 years to come up with an alternative and they couldn't do it. Ryan cobbled this rubbish together in time for the ACA anniversary simply to embarrass Obama. Trump doesn't even know what the heck is in the bill but he's pushing to have it passed. Not to mention it needs to go through the Senate where it's DOA.

Trump thinks his ultimatum to pass today will cower the Freedom Caucus into voting for it. What he doesn't realize is that burning bridges with those psychos will come back to haunt him when it's time to increase the debt limit. They're already against it. His bullying will push them over the edge. He's an amateur and he's playing with fire. I expect him to throw his toys out if the bill doesn't pass today and blame everyone but himself. Wait for that debt limit increase and we'll see real fireworks. The markets have of course not priced in all this risk which will make the inevitable drop even bigger.
