Eish... not much I can do now but hold these longs into tomorrow... maybe the positive divergence on 4hr chart can help me out☺ provided US holds up tonight

Some relief for you here. The question is how long will it last.

What about the ZAR weakening .... it seems to have broken  upwards out of its downward channel....

Bullsnbears44 warrants trading all you need to do is not to go for the knockout warrants that are close to the underlying, like now there are knockout warrants for 43k though they are quite tempting if there is no short term bounce those would be taken out very fast so i would rather go for 42k ones. The trick with these warrants is to get in when there is a strong trend or chances of a strong bounce and not to hold onto them when the market is flat. The time decay will just eat your money when the market is moving in a thin channel.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll try it again one day.

BlythZ how are you finding the warrants trading? I tried it a few years ago and got killed. I'm guessing the barrier warrants don't suffer from the time decay like the normal ones?

I cant see the bottom of this cliff!! Can any of you?

I see 43 600 as the bottom BB for the daily, possible target today. Then that area of 43K-42.7K is going to be stick because of the weekly 200MA which seems to have held up throughout the bull run of the last decade or so.

The potential for it to move past that and way beyond is very high. The global economy is very weak, monetary policy has absolutely no teeth and markets are at record valuations everywhere. Only reason the JSE isn't at ATH is because the Rand mean reverted. I guess they can always talk up fiscal stimulus but with the world so over-ridden with debt already it's starting to become a political fighting ground.

Oil in trouble now

So are the bulls.

We've reversed all 3500 points from the post-Xmas rally. I expect a little oversold bounce and then the real drop heading into April.

Also remember over and above the US happenings next week, our futures close out on wed too... alsi has sold off quite a bit over last couple of weeks, ability to bounce from here must not be ignored... although trend remains down and weekly negative crossover in progress

She must retest the 44170 support she broke...
200 points bounce by lunch time??

With the rand weakness it's definitely possible. Good call I think

Out of my short-term short. Rand weakness coming through. Remaining 88% of my short is still in tact and waiting for the first target at the weekly 200MA - 42 700 or so

and there's still plenty of room to run on the hourly ,4/5 hourly and daily charts to ensure this thing closes below 44K. Euphoric Europe will need to save the market today.

A close well below 44k and I'll be adding to my shorts.
