Check my earlier post, it is an attachment. No tool used, got it on twitter as a screen shot. The person on twitter reckons the 3rd wave in an Elliott formation started on friday.

Graph points the 3rd wave to R6.31, 4th wave drop to R3.51, then 5th wave R9.11. One can only hope.

Hi..trying see graph on my phone..is that graph saying could go to 5 rand??? Ouch re your purchase... in beginning i pressed sale on share instead of limit on my sale price and my shares sold for lot less than expecting...wont make that mistake again..my average sits at 3.21 now..and have approximately 100000 shares so either buy more when cheap or sit it out..i believe they will go up in time..but patience needs to be your thing :/

Got myself sucker punched into 80000 x R2.50 on Friday. (My mood is similar to the weather right now)

See the tech view from one twitter user. Recons it will go up to with the 3 primary wave. (Elliott wave theory)

Other tech reports on investing.com says the opposite, going down to 0.07 EUR. (think they use the 200 day moving avg and other short term indicators)

Second time in a month that the Shorts picked up some losses, might make them think twice I hope!! (worries me that IN is now looking at shorting also)

Heavy volume on Monday will hopefully pull this up.

As always this share just needs one event(Sens/Article/etc.) and all reason is lost.

Not looking at shorting snh... I am invested in snh... Just checking in to see different strategies....

Also I think Polly is female... Or a Parrot...or is that the same... I see references to he...... And thought best to checkin.

Some interesting Information...

1.
spokesman for Steinhoff said the company hasn’t received any court papers in the matter. A Commerzbank spokesman said the lender doesn’t comment on current or potential client relationships

2. Most likely avenue for shareholders to get back value would be from deloitte... Insurers and directors....

Hi IN,

FYI I sent an email to SNH Investor Relations asking if they have received notice of law suits. I received the following feedback on Friday 17 August, yesterday:

"Relating to the class action that was in the media last week, Steinhoff has received the court papers yesterday and is in the process of reviewing these documents."

Court papers have therefor now been filed against SNH.

I assume a SENS will be released next week to notify us on this.

Polly can provide feedback/insight on how exactly he leverages. Selling stock and hoping to buy back cheeper is not the true definition of short selling. Short Selling involves borrowing a share, and then selling it. You effectively believe the share price will drop as it's overvalued, and you will buy it back at a cheaper rate.

Example: You borrow and sell 100,000 Steinhoff shares via a broker or CFD and sell @ R2 per share and make R200k. Bankruptcy is announced and share price drops to R0.50. Now you buy the 100,000 shares back at a cost of R50k, and give back to whom it was borrowed from. You just made R150k.

Short selling is however EXTREMELY risky as you losses are unlimited. In example above you borrowed and sold the shares and got R200k. Next morning Steinhoff announces PWC report, as well as the fact that Mattress Firm has been sold for $3billion. Steinhoff share price rockets to R20. You need to give back the 100,000 Steinhoff shares, but to buy it back costs you R2million. You have just lost R1.8million rand overnight!!

Going long or short on a share you can only loose what you put in. Buying R200k worth of Steinhoff shares you can loose that and make peace with it. Shorting Steinhoff shares you could theoretically loose R1.8million overnight.

Google the story about Joe Campbell, a trader from US. He shorted a share at $2, believing it's worth $1.

He went into a four hour meeting, and when he got out the company had broken good news about restructuring and share price increased 600%.

He ended up owing the trading platform $100,000 and started a GoFundMe page to plead with people to help him.

I am not sure if Polly is shorting as per the above correct definition of short, and set stop losses to get out again at some point as per his messages.

That's what I assume.

In other words borrowing shares via a trading platform, selling and hoping to buy them back for cheaper.

It's unlikely that he is selling in order to buy more back at cheaper, as he believes the company is worth nothing.

Polly has done an amazing job of spotting the downtrends. Kudos!

I bought 100,000 SNH shares, and am willing to loose the R200k.

I personally would not short Steinhoff as the risk is just to high that PWC report comes out early, or any other messages that cause you to loose a million rand overnight.

Ill be interested to hear...as far as i know you use a broker and put money in almost like insurance so if shares dont go to what you gambling they keep money..i dont think you can do this on likes fnb etc...but im also interested..read about this in my book..i don't think ill do this until have better grasp of charts...vrry risky for inexperienced..

It's risk but here are some amazing honest trend spotters in this chat who have been right all the time with down trend.. We should leverage this...
