BTW im no pumper or dumper. I just trade what i see from a tech point of view while at back of my head hold the fundamental view that a sunken ship.

lol i think you are the only trader here and your input is greatly appreciated, its the reason why i have not bought at R2 when it was dropping....u mentioned R1 etc.....so now we sitting at R1.80 

 

Lowest this price dropped to was

 

R1.07 (June 4th)

R1.76 (July 4th)

R3.56 (July 19th)...........news of agreement

R2.45 (Aug 3)

R1.80 (Aug 17)

 

Think will buy small portion towards end of day ......dnt think it will go lower than 1.50 but f knows anymore

Dear motivated... My 2c..pls be honest to yourself and decide if you're an investor or trader... Different approach.. You're r30k down if you sell now... Or more if you sell later.. But could be up at the right time.. It is difficult to time the market... But there are trading rules and trends.. Technical analysis that guides...

If you're an investor... Have a strategy buy and look away... Also know your risk appetite... Be cautious when following advice on chat groups.. There are people that pump a share... Like me of course always only see the positive in snh... And those that would run the share down creating panic to be able to score on the down... Easy to identify a pumper and dumper... They start to post to drive a trend....

So your down r30k. Was this money you needed... If yes then you should not have invested here... This share is high risk.. Must be money you can afford to lose...
Leave what you have... Try get some more cheaper later and buy other shares.... I am in investor and buy value. I spare 20% for high risk investing where I am happy with fundamentals. The remainder 80% across a variety of sectors giving me local and international exposure and Rand hedge.
Some shares up and some down... Other money in property and gaining rental income.. Some money in businesses..

You should have a strategy.... Speak to a financial advisor....

I thought I would just caution as many investors get burnt timing the market playing a trading dance... When in fact they should have committed time...

Hi Investment Novice, 

 

I was watching videos by Warren buffet and he prefers being an investor.

 

LOL I have tried to follow this but I tend to keep checking on my shares...and getting on an emotional roller coaster.

 

I want to be an investor.  I need to learn to look away.

 

It is money that I can risk losing - but it is sad.  I am trying this for the first time and hope for better outcomes.

 

Thank you for the advice about pushers and dumpers .   I will be weary

 

I will try to spread my Ka-Ching in some other areas to diversify.  I didn't want to have a huge portfolio though, just a few good selections.

Short on break of R1.90  #Stop 2.60# Take profit R1.10

 

Then if break of 90c # Stop R1.60 # Take profit as close to ZERO

Would be something else if this share goes near that ZERO mark!

 

For sure we do not know the true extent of the crisis, the media has given some information, would only be relalised in the PwC report.

 

Retail figures declined this quarter, also considering we could enter a reccession, not looking too good for SA market, this will have negative impact on Q3 more specially Q4 results.

 

My opinion, this share is undervalued, the market reacted on accounting irregularities, consumers are still buying from snh stores, if consumers starts boycotting the stores then no hope for snh....but this is not the case.

 

Uncertainty in those figures leads to this share being high risk and extremely volatile until such time the report comes out, so between now and then expect the bumpy ride. Traders are milking this period, investors are looking away.

 

I'm waiting to buy in at R1.80 and more if it goes lower....I've stopped buying my wife clothes and shoes to have that extra cash and its sufficient for now  . Shoud this share go south i would be in serious kak both sides and will not be seen again

Hi Guys,

I am new to investing.

I put in some of my money to buy SNH shares at R1.30, R2.10, R2.90.

I saw it climb to a 100K profit but I didn't take the money out and left it in and now it went down to a R30K loss.

I feel so disappointed. My money is sitting there. I still have a lot to learn about investing.

Please tell me what happens if Steinhoff becomes insolvent? Will I get any money back? I am trading on easy equities....

What is the predicted value of SNH share? Think it will be more than what I invested.

Please advise. I am just trying investing for the 1st time and I don't want to waste anymore money.
