I just pledged my shares. If we can get 75% before the EGM we should see a quicker move of this share price

JR will find out for you what the voting shares are. they were meant to tally it over the weekend.
I think a bit part of our problem is that the shareholders are ... the retail shareholders, are more shareholders than investors and we are very nonchalant, we just want to invest to make money and are very hands off. The same can be said about our choice in government, local and national. We don't really put up a fight to change things. If there was a vehicle for that, to champion change and get all the investors together and put forth their fight then it might be a different song we are singing. But the investors I know, throw their money at PSG and Investec as well as the voting rights and they trust in them.
We are usually beat by the large institutions that don't always care about running the business as long as the share price increases and dividends are paid

There should be news by 30 June. We will most probably see proforma financials by then and also the circular for us to vote on. Remember they announced the deal should be closed by end of August. And there is a 60 day circular period to arrange an EGM. So there will definatly be news by next week Wednesday.
Sent from my SM-G973F using Sharenet Sharechat mobile app
andi222, what do you think happened to the 30 June date. Do we know if there are still anyone working there? It amazes me that the companies that needs to speak to and inform their shareholders the most are always the quietest.
Just imagine for a moment this was a private company. Do anyone think the shareholders would accept this silence while they bleed money and are in the process of losing the business?? I doubt it. If it were my business I would have the management that got us in this k@k locked up in boardroom and I would want answers and then some.... But just because it is a listed company for some or other reason the shareholders are kept in the dark and management which I though gets elected by the shareholders can keep silent and do nothing.
I am starting to think that a big problem in companies that has the similar issues than Ascendis (and by that I mean Management f-ed up the business and screwed the shareholders for a nice paycheck) is that we as shareholders keep them on to "sort out" the mess. WHY? If your mechanic keeps on breaking more than he fixes do you keep on taking your vehicle back to him/her??? NO. You get someone else next time. I think we as shareholders must start to chase them away once it is clear that they messed up and now I am talking about serious issues like over committing the company financially to the brink of bankruptcy and creditors having the right to run the show and take over the company (Ascendis, Sasol), can they not do a cash flow (Basic management skill), fraud (Steinhof,Eoh),. Chase them away, they got us in the k@k in the first place so why keep them on. Let them go and go after their houses, cars and pensions for neglecting their fiduciary duties as directors and as responsible Human beings.....
But no, we keep them, give them more salaries and bonusses. O and last rant for this morning, a credit bureau for management/directors must be created. Like doing a credit check to see if someone pays his debt there must be one for Directors. If you messed up and you are listed as a crap director the highest position you should so be able to get in next company is where ever the tea lady ranks in the organization is, she will be your boss.... Never higher than this. I mean you should have stolen enough money by then, I mean you got paid for running the business successfully which you did not do so you got your salary for doing nothing. That's stealing in my books.
On a lighter note does anyone know how much voting right support the AAI group currently have? Maybe they can still save us all a buck or two...

The JSE doesn't protect minority shareholders, they don't value them. The "watchdog" is blind.
How many blatant insider trading cases have been reported and how many have been prosecuted?
Alot of JSE companies are nothing but management feeding schemes.
Couldn't agree more. Most of them are single handedly destroying these companies.

The minority stake has therefore been sold for a P/E of around 4.6x which isn't much to get excited about to be honest. It gets even worse if you consider that the stake was originally acquired for R210m in 2015 and is now being sold for just R84m.
Wow - Until management are are held personally responsible for their actions nothing will change. They will keep on pissssing away shareholders money, getting insane remuneration packages and enjoying the good life.
To say I am getting fed up with investing in companies listed on the JSE is an understatement. It was always a lot safer to invest in listed companies and everyone advised against investing in private companies but it seems that it does not matter anymore. There is no accountability on the JSE anymore.
But, back to the sale of Farmalider, does anyone know if Ascendis are now financially better of selling this directly than what they would have gotten in the debt for asset swop?

So animal health to be sold for max R790 million.
There goes everyone's hopes - there goes the dream up in smoke
Ascendis is clearly being wound up and everything are being done to sink this company and sold to who ever wants it at a whatever price.
I am no expert and am obviously not privy to any real boardroom discussions and meetings but having been involved in the sale and purchase of many business for myself and my clients I must say that something seems rotten....
Maybe we must all make a bid to Mark for the other business unit units for R1, maybe we get it......
Agree with your view. It seems too fishy. Two years into it this is what Mark offers. Be that as it may why do we need to pay so many consultants etc. SA Inc management are just not straight.

We will have to wait for more information in the circular but the market is largely efficient and that being said my gut tells me it won’t be higher than the current price, not sure how much lower though.
So what must we hold for?
What about the settlement with debt holders?
Its crazy how so many JSE companies are going like this.
Companies that have great assets.

It does seem as if ASC is being wound up. If I'm honest I haven't really kept myself up to date with the news and disposals for the last couple months so I am not sure what businesses actually remain under the ascendis umbrella...clearly nothing worth talking about and certainly nothing worth being listed on the JSE.
I guess this entire Ascendis thread will be coming to a rather abrupt and disappointing ending for many of us, especially those that got involved prior to the whole Blantyre saga. Let's wait and see what is left after conclusion of the deals and pro-formas released. I will be happy to get out and just minimize my losses at this stage just so I don't have to look at a big red loss in my portfolio everyday.
Do you think it will be lower then the current price?

I am very sure that will delist after the sale of a couple of their assets is complete, question is will it be a voluntary or involuntary delisting and if the former at what price ?
What are the mechanics behind a voluntary delisting etc.
I think ascendis has become a piece of turd but let’s see what the proforma financials say.
