4. EXTERNAL AUDIT
The Company’s Condensed Consolidated Interim Financial Statements have been reviewed by the Company’s auditors, Mazars, who expressed a qualified review opinion thereon. The basis for the qualified review opinion included:

a) the inability to obtain sufficient appropriate review evidence to substantiate the likelihood of the expected outcome of the proposed legal settlement and therefore the provision for the Litigation Settlement Proposal; and

the comparability of the 31 March 2020 Condensed Consolidated Interim Financial Statements due to it being impracticable to perform retrospective procedures on historic financial information.

We needed something stronger from this report but ja...we just have to be patient

I don't think its that fishy.

 

They didn't perform the previous audit themselves and due to the issues with the previous auditor I think it is wise that they do not trust those figures.

The audit they have just completed will be the basis upon which they can reliably report in future.

 

I think that this time next year, things will be different and the audit opinion could be unqualified.

1. Global settlement hopefully completed

2. Reliable previous audit info to rely on

 

The fact that they are being so conservative also bodes well for future investor sentiment as the figures would most likely be far more trustworthy.
