I really enjoy reading all the comments on this chat forum..it is very informative. The stop loss idea is very good because....I agree...watching the share price all day is driving me nuts. I first bought at R11 then more at about R4  and then the bulk at R1.80...so my average shareprice and risk to losing a lot came down significantly to about R2.07. Will also sell if it hits R7 or R7.50

Some friendly advice... Dont buy shares and watch them every minute... Set stop losses to sell when a base is reached or an alert when a top is reached...

You will drive yourself batty looking at daily fluctuations... If you look at frankfurt today price all over the place... And now recovering.. As an example... If you in pain looking at shares or hungry counting gains.. Need therapy... Alcoholics anonymous

Hi IN.....in the event they delist....do we lose the shares?

Nah they would buy back the shares from existing shareholders... Sort out an agreement with legal eagles... Do debt for equity swap and relist as a new company..... Thats a scenario... Not a reality but could be the only way to regain lost ground and appease shareholders... Does not answer how they will manage shareholders that exited.... December...

Focussing on the now....
Share price moves with trades and auction. Computer trading... Prices fly all over the place.... Higher volumes in SA compared to international today.... May be SA traders exiting.. Support Snippit bull theory... Just need the right good news.. Perhaps Aug 3....

Confused is my normal. Less confused is my wonderful.

The chart is leaning into an extended 2nd wave which is all too often what happens all over the place.

It is confirming that this is now a waiting game. But it has already let the cat out that this is a bull trend.

Or so I choose to believe with only some mystical mythology to support my case.

Don't knock it. This crap has been very popular since before we stopped swinging in the trees.

  1. Trusting strangers on an anonymous chat forum can be a risky business. Even more risky than the stock market.
  2. I have tried to warn the vulnerable, being those without adequate savvy: e.g.: https://swrict.blogspot.com/2018/11/sharechat-warning.html
  3. Vultures circle hereabouts. Give them control and say goodbye to your money.

Ah just read it.... Steinhoff would not be allowed to buy volume without sens disclosure... In any event if they were certain on the Lua... They would have bought at R1....
The delisting though could still occur... And agreements with shareholders based on equity swaps during relisting...it may be the only way to breach the value gap...

I bet you Steinhoff is buying back all the share sold in the open market to mitigate the effect paying back the retail investors when then go private (delisting) and they will relist at a higher price next year…. Watch this space. more than 360 million shares have changed hands in the past 10 trading days at less than R3 a share. who is busy buying? Imagine the share going back to R90 after all this frantic selling and buying?????

Please post link.. Thanks

Great all sounding positive 👍what are implications normally if a company wants buy into steinhoff..the buying company shares usually goes down at time of purchase and steinhoff goes up? Ive noticed there seems be a pattern..for eg if star bought into steinhoff would star shares be likely to go down ...? When dischem owner bookbuild and sold lots his shares dischem shares dropped rapidly... but that was different...trying understand reasoning..?

Difficult to answer.. Based on strategy, market sentiment, debt, dilution, liquidity of shares.... Lots of factors...
If a companies director shorts his companies shares... Thats one sure way to drive down share value....

fyi- previous reports from media ---highlighted a increase in SNH share price due to the disclosure of SNH preference dividend.

would we expect another foot forward with the increase in the dividend quantum- perhaps this may result in nudge forward- even if slight...may see this today or subsequently...even though its a mere 10c
