Strip the goodwill and intangibles from the assets and this company is technically insolvent. Current ratio less than 1 indicating massive problems. Results unaudited. Debt levels massive, we need clarity on the restructuring programme. Normalised numbers okay, depending if they can defend lawsuits against them. Very risky IMO.

Its equity position also shrank following the restatement. After originally being at €16.635bn at the end of March 2017, it was restated to €5.692bn. At the end of March 2018, its total equity was €3.793bn.

There is 4.3b issued shares. If they can sort out the liquidity. Then think so.

Normal shreholders should not expect a dividend....what we need is debt stability and operational stability. If we get this today fantastic. Remember expect financials to be loss making....
Litigation liability would be the remaining unknown and should not expect much on this..however....snh will be deferring blame to fraudsters as those investigations pickup.....ad we should expect litigation to be along drawn out affair....

Steinhoff just declared a preference share dividend of 427c per share, for a total of R64m.  So just maybe the results are going to surprise.  Long at 128c.

What does this mean for us normal shareholders... I there any other information out today that can benefit us?

Think it's more of a legality point as oppose as I'm sure these negotiations have been ongoing for some period now.

Just hope Wiese has our(shareholders) back for change.

media sensationalism....investor jitters as share price drops to 1.22....from a high of 124???

there is a statutory requirement for the letters of extension and the restructuring agreements have not yet been finalised.

it is tragic that the board had provided themselves so little time to finalise restructuring especially since the financials are only expected today or tomorrow.

this is indeed sad evidence to the boards maturity and indication that in 2019 there needs to be further changes following survival.

or does this actually indicate a failure to reach agreement on the restructuring- this would be most concerning.

according to yesterdays SENS there is no indication of this- perhaps my biased blindness looked for calmness rather than a write off on my investment.

awaiting financials !!!

and eagerly awaiting forensic reports!

The calm before the storm. Too many people have lost too much money. Technically, you taking a blind gamble as there are no fundamentals.

Bancruptcy priced in...

Steinhoff’s dodgy deal down under

Be good that all of these are yester year transactions. Shows intent and extent but also demonstrates that they are historical and does not impact futire earnings...hmm snh to claim some recompense from the sharks even if a pittence . .

“One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don't know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn't matter.” - Lewis Carroll

Thanks for the quick reply.

However, this does not explain why all the other exchanges are also not trading... eg. Tradegate, Xetra, Frankfurt, etc.

Wondering what's up with that.

Very weird, nothing on Std Bank, Sharent, or the JSE ... no share prices, no SENS, as it everything is at a standstill as at 8:30 this morning.
